Vogalonga

Coming to life in 1975 from the idea of Venetian rowing enthusiasts, including Toni and Giuseppe Rosa Salva and the then editor of Il Gazzettino newspaper, Lauro Bergamo, the Vogalonga has been a non-competitive regatta taking place every year in May.

Originally there were about 500 boats that participated in the first regatta. Over the years, the Vogalonga became more and more famous and the number of participants grew, bringing the number of vessels up to 1,600. Regatta participants from all over the world and with all kinds of rowing boats meet along a 30km route between the various canals and the most characteristic places of the city of Venice.

All those who reach the finish line receive a commemorative medal and a certificate of participation.
